Well, cool. Not a bad time to leave reporting. The industry started to decline then because of all the online stuff. I'm actually trying to break in as a freelance writer and finding it very difficult. I submit, submit, submit and get rejected, rejected, rejected. Writing NGO grants about Israel-Palestine peace, actually, seems easier by comparison and getting them might give me something they want me to write about. Because I'm hanging out with the SWEETEST people on Quora who care about the Middle East and North Africa region. Writing about local stuff is fun, lucky you. Sherwood Anderson had to make up the facts when he wrote Winesburg, Ohio, but you got the real deal and you got to be like the real-life main character. I actually wrote my college senior thesis about a Maine extinct animal, the Sea Mink. It lived in a small area that included the Maine coast and possibly nearby coasts, and was hunted to extinction in the 19th century. What are your interests these days?
