Hello and great piece! I heard you are now working on Quora's monetization and congratulations. I am a dedicated Quora Top Writer who maintains popular Spaces, many of which I use for advocacy. One Space I maintain, Quora's Israel-Palestine peace Space Unity is Strength, became Quora's first to get an external grant. We've now won multiple grants for our activities.

I've been thinking a lot about the monetization of Quora, and got several of the top businesspeople writing for Quora Spaces to create a new Space, Monetization of This Site (we can't use the word "Quora" in a Space name). I think it's possible to test ideas for Quora monetizing (1) job recruitment, (2) online learning, (3) speaker bookings, (4) corporate consulting, and probably others, each for under $25,000. Quora has enabled people to have some very high quality connections, and that seems to me to be its greatest distinct value. Ad based monetization, Quora's current model, doesn't quite tap into this aspect of its value. I'm a seasoned ex-Google software engineer who's thought about a budget breakdown for testing the monetization of the things I mentioned, and I know about the various logistic aspects of these types of projects. I'd be delighted to chat further.
